3rd Place at the Hawk Invite Hosted by Olathe East
The ONW Gymnastics team is ranked third overall out of the 13 teams in the 6A region right behind Olathe East (first) and Lawrence Free State (second).
The team has placed no lower than third this season placing second at the Olathe Quad, second at the ONW Invite, third at the SMN Invite and third at the Hawk Invite last week.
With only three competitions left in the season until state, the girls have no time to waste.
To qualify for state you take the top six scores out of the seven competitions and average them together, creating your final score. Then that score is compared to the other 13 schools, in which the best eight teams are chosen to compete against each other
If your team isn’t chosen to be part of the team competition, then you can still qualify for the individual events, to compete for the individual title. The top five people that their teams don’t qualify can qualify for the individual. The same concept for the team final score is applied for the individual.
If you qualify for team, you automatically qualify for the individual title competition.
The next competition is Wednesday at Lawrence High school at 6:00 PM against Olathe East, Lawrence Free State and Lawrence High school.
